We’re wrapping up work on Tubular 1.0 Public Beta 1. The biggest changes involve the addition of registration - you will be required to enter in your information into the app come next build. The details are still being worked out, but there will obviously be some restrictions if you’re unregistered, such as a cap on the number of favorites. If you’ve already preordered, you’ve got nothing to worry about. We’ll send out all the details for registration via email when the beta is released.
Speaking of emails, we’ve been hearing reports from people who aren’t receiving release emails. Some people are getting email A but not B, some are getting B but not A, some are getting both, and some aren’t getting any. For that, I apologize. It seems to be a problem with our side of things, and we’re looking into some alternate systems for getting emails out.
Finally, we’re on Twitter! If you’ve got a Twitter account and would like to receive updates through there, you can follow us at our profile page. We’ll be posting new releases, tips for using Tubular, and maybe even a funny YouTube video or two.

at 12:47 pm on August 19, 2007,So far, Tubular has been working great. I ordered Tubular Date: December 16, 2006 11:20:19 AM PDT via GiftZO. However, I am not no longer receiving emails on any of the updates. Thanks for putting me back on your list of updates. Today I updated to version 0.9.8 using “Check for Updates…” and I am looking forward to release 1.0
How will I get my final registration number?
Thanks

at 11:52 pm on August 28, 2007,I have to say I agree. You’ve taken too long to complete software that doesn’t really work to any reasonable satisfaction. I have to wait until the entire YouTube video loads before I can even watch it? And every time I select a video to watch, the app goes unresponsive (not beachballing, but the app deselects itself every time I click on a menu or the window)? And the video never plays?
I guess you’re laughing from all the preorders you’ve gotten, so maybe you win. But I’m not buying anymore into this “MacZOT, follow us along development blog, release buggy releases until 1.0 which is also a buggy release, never release a 2.0 because it was a one trick pony to begin with” app.

at 9:23 am on September 1, 2007,Just look how many people care to comment at all any more. A handful at best. The interest vanished. Period.
If I had paid money for this non-working crap called Tubular, I’d demand it back. I ask you again, Mr. “Developer”: If you at some place in time realized that you are not up to the task, it would not have been a big shame to just admit it. It IS however a big shame to leave all your customers out in the rain for so long.

at 9:59 pm on October 3, 2007,Would we be able to change proxy settings in Tubular? Our internet provider here throttles our connection to youtube. Will it support SOCKS? I’m using a VPN to bypass this so its very important that Tubular supports this. Thanks

Don’t even bother asking for updates. It’s been almost two months since the last post by Steve Streza, and almost three months since the last update to the program. This program is a joke, and Steve Streza is an amateur programmer who obviously has no understanding of business practices in the real world. It’s been almost a year since Tubular was included as part of a bundle on MacZot, and more than a year since Phil Ryu announced his support of Steve Streza. In that time we’ve seen broken promises and a complete lack of professional conduct on Steve Streza’s side. I would hope that Brian Ball (MacZot), and Phil Ryu (MyDreamApp/MacHeist) renounce their previous endorsement of Steve Streza, as he has failed to meet expectations time and time again, and tarnishes the Macintosh shareware scene with his presence.

Don’t twist the truth. Sure, Tubular *launches* under a clean install of Leopard. Problem is, it won’t import any of my favorites. I then tried to watch a video by searching for one I liked. Tubular just sat there, “loading” the video, and then crashed without warning. So I relaunched it, and clicked on the Most Recent link, and clicked on a video at random. Again, it sat there while loading the video…and immediately crashed again. Same thing when clicking the Most Viewed link.
In short, I agre with iDoc: this program doesn’t run on Leopard.
Steve Streza seems to have abondoned this piece of shit since he hasn’t updated the program in four months, and I doubt he even checks these posts. If you haven’t already, get your refund for this atrocity.

at 10:34 am on November 7, 2007,Yep. This software is vaporware just like the other stuff like Disco burning! They also did not release any update in months! All they do is receive money and we do not get any news on developement or feature improvements. They even moderate their blog so nobody has written something bad
Sorry for OT but this is making me totally angry like this crap software tubular did a long time ago!

at 9:40 am on December 27, 2007,Steve, you made Tubular Private Beta 1 available ONE YEAR AGO TODAY. Where are the updates? Is this program that I paid for DEAD? It DOESN’T WORK ON LEOPARD. You DON’T ANSWER SUPPORT E-MAILS. You are a JOKE of a programmer. Merry Fucking Christmas.

at 7:06 am on January 20, 2008,Every couple of months I get reminded that I once paid for Tubular beta access through MacZOT. Over one year(!) later there is still not sign of a nearly completed version. Yet still, you are accepting pre-orders.
You sir, are the most disgusting rip-off in the Mac shareware scene. Right before David Watanabe. But at least he codes software that works somehow.

at 7:04 am on January 24, 2008,And here’s another customer who payed in advance.
WHAT A RIPOFF!!!
You should be ashamed of yourself - this is the last blog entry and it claims v.1 will soon be released - this is now almost 6 months ago.
SCAMMER!!!

at 11:37 am on January 26, 2008,You know what’s really pathetic about Tubular? According to your last blog post, nearly 6 months ago, you said the biggest change was going to be the addition of registration for Tubular. How much do you suck at programming to need more than 6 months to implement a registration scheme? Steve, stop taking people’s money with pre-orders, refund those of us who already paid for your vaporware, and get a job flipping burgers - it would suit you well.
