We’re almost there. We are currently nailing it in so it works as expected (leaving the video player and going back to the list, drag and drop, copy/paste, etc.). We’ve already seen massive performance improvements and, to a limited extent, graphical quality improvements. Both we’ll be working on improving even further, but the QuickTime and Perian integration is paying off already. The only downside is that, for the moment, videos have to preload before playing. We’re working on that as well.

at 12:46 pm on February 15, 2007,I agree with the above two posts, but i have still not received any beta information even though i pre-ordered over 3 months ago! grr.
I think that a nice stable release should be made, then features added in after that so you still have fully useable product if it all goes wrong
Tubular saldrá pronto y facilitará la tansición de YouTube al iPod Said
at 1:11 pm on February 15, 2007,[...] [...]

at 2:19 pm on February 15, 2007,Adam: You should have received the email at both the email address tied to your PayPal account and the address from the email you sent me. Neither of them seem to have bounced, so if you still haven’t gotten it let me know.
Everyone else: This is the last “feature” that will be added to Tubular before the 1.0, I swear. Adding Perian could easily be seen as a feature, although I don’t really see it as such, because fixing all of the little playback problems was a lot easier to do by going to Perian than it would have been by just fixing the root of the issue as pertaining to the YouTube player.
So yeah, this is the last feature to be added. And it’s almost done.

at 11:51 am on February 19, 2007,The playback problems are hardly the biggest issue with the application at the moment Steve, and I would hope that you understand that. Can I have a refund?

at 7:31 pm on April 1, 2007,It’s a great looking application and everything. The interface is simple, and usable. However, I hate the fact that one must wait for the video to preload. If per say we were to watch television episodes on YouTube through Tubular, it takes the same amount of time as downloading the entire video file, and playing it through your own player. Thus rendering the entire concept of Tubular pointless. I still have faith in this app so for now it is still in my Apps folder, and for the time being I am forced to use the inhospitably terrible GUI of YouTube. Please fix this as soon as posisble.
