Start up Tubular and check for updates, where you’ll find the third beta is released. This fixes two of those issues that were detected in the last release; Tubular will save the size of its window now, and you can now close videos and the sidebar will work again.
If you have contacted us regarding not receiving a beta link, we will be addressing those in the next few hours. Enjoy!

at 3:12 pm on December 28, 2006,Hmm - it still gets into the unresponsive state where I can return to the search results but then nothing works after that.

at 5:30 pm on December 28, 2006,It works I like it… however when I get to the end of a video and click on a link that is displayed that refers me to another video, tubular opens it up like it is a webpage and not in the tubular window. I’d prefer it if the video just opend up in tubular and not the entire website. Thanks

at 9:33 pm on December 28, 2006,I have just downloaded the private beta and updated to the latest version. Whenever it re-launched the application to the latest version and prompted me to enter in my account name, I told it my account name and just hit the “Enter” key instead of clicking on the button - it said it was importing my favorite movies and did not import any of them. I have over 80 of them. Also, there is a limit to the number of characters you can enter into the search box. For example: I tried searching for: “New York City Subway” and the maximum I could enter was “New York City Subw” - this needs to be fixed. My useragent is Mac OS X 10.4.8. Also, I got the same bug that Slevin did in regards to the new window, and I too would like it just to open up in the same window in Tubular without it opening up or acting as a webpage. Thank you!

at 9:39 pm on December 28, 2006,Also, I redid an import as I noticed it was not my correct account. However, I did find a bug that I noted I had over 80 videos in my favorites and it only imports up to 10 of my over 80 favorite videos - this needs to be fixed. Also, it does not show the entire title of the video. This is fine, but I would like to see “…” at the end, as well as upon mouseover of the video you see the video title, author, description, length, and rating.

at 9:41 pm on December 28, 2006,Also, you should be able to re-import your account or have the option of changing your YouTube account via Settings. Not only that, but you should have the account password-protected to where we basically have to login in order to view our favorites.

at 9:42 pm on December 28, 2006,Also, sorry for all of these comments, but I’m discovering them as I’m playing around with this application, and submitting them as soon as I’m finding them. Anyway, what I was going to say was that the “Share” button at the end of the video (the button to the left of the “Watch Video” link) when viewing your video inside Tubular does not work.

at 10:52 pm on December 28, 2006,Hey Steve, thanks for putting out updates! I also found some bugs:
-Tubular wil crash if I try to search with non-english characters (e.g. Chinese and Japanese)
-There is no way to remove videos from “My Favorites”
-Can’t stop and remove a downloading movie
-The letters in the search bar will get cut off if it is too long
Just like what Slevin said, I would also love to keep those video links inside Tubular instead of opening up a youtube page.
Keep up the work, thanks for bringing us Tubular!

at 10:49 am on December 29, 2006,I just pre-ordered Tubular. Confirmation by Paypal received by email.
How long will it last before I can access the beta?
Si Brindley Said
at 10:55 am on December 29, 2006,Joseph, most likely Steve just forgot to increment the version number internally, so “0.9.3″ has the same version number as 0.9.2, hence the continual ‘upgrade’ cycle.
Brandon Said
at 12:04 pm on December 29, 2006,I get that problem too, Joseph - it simply won’t upgrade to the newest version.

at 4:51 pm on December 29, 2006,Hey Steve! Is there anyway I can get in the beta also? I’ve got a great sugestion for you also, you could incorporate all of the video sites into your app. I found a website that can do this: keepvid.com. Thanks!

I figured that was the issue with that bug
It still thinks you have the old version so it is a continuous cycle.

at 6:51 pm on December 29, 2006,Is it just me, or do the videos never change in the various categories? (ie. every time I launch I get the same list of videos. Pressing refresh makes no difference)
Cheers,
Rich
Brandon Said
at 7:47 pm on December 29, 2006,Rich, I get that same error also. Also, whenever a video conversion to iPod is finished, it still shows the download tab with 1 download in it and it shows the “Finished conversion” message, but does not update and you cannot remove the completed conversion.

at 1:39 am on January 2, 2007,i think there should be a category in the left for “viewing” and “searches”… because every time i click onto another category besides my search, i lose my search. the same goes for my playing video. also, once i search for something and try to start a new search, it doesn’t let me. i have to restart the program in order to make a new search.

at 1:35 pm on January 21, 2007,Hi there,
I ordered and paid for Tubular on Dec 01, 2006. I purchased it with GiftZOT Part 1 - MacZOT.
How do I get my registration and download site for Tubular?
Thanks
Craig Paterson Said
at 9:47 am on January 23, 2007,I also purchased with GiftZOT on 1st Dec 2006.
Same question here (again), how/when do I get my registration for download for Tubular.
I have received confirmation of my pre-order purchase, but no beta download information.
I have sent 2 emails to support@tubularapp.com which have received automated responses, but no human contact as yet.
Looking forward to being able to test Tubular - Having paid up front for an unreleased app, the least you could do is honour all of those who have purchased a registration of an unreleased app.
Disgruntled at the moment, but hopefully not for too long!
