Tubular is an Internet TV application for your Mac which makes it simple to watch videos on YouTube. With an elegant and familiar interface, it’s how Internet TV on the Mac should look. Convert any video to your iPod with one click. Quickly import your existing favorites from your YouTube account. And everything is designed to be dead simple.
Importing Favorites
Tubular makes it simple to import your favorites from your existing YouTube account. The first time you launch Tubular, it will ask you what your YouTube user name is, retrieve your favorites, and store them for quick and easy access. You can even enable Auto-Sync to automatically retrieve your favorites from YouTube in the background.
Navigation
Tubular features an elegant user interface with a focus on simplicity and ease of use. Inspired by iTunes, you can quickly navigate around the various video categories. There is also a search bar, making it painless to find a video.
Video Playback
Tubular is powered by two technologies, QuickTime and Perian. Together, these translate the video files from something you can view in a web browser to a standard QuickTime video file. This makes it possible to view videos scaled to high resolutions with solid frame rates, even on older machines, something that a browser video player cannot match. You can also scrub to any individual frame within a video.
Quick Play
Whether you come across a video on the web, or get one in your inbox from a friend, a lot of the video we watch comes from other people. Tubular makes it simple to play the video. Simply drag the URL from your web browser, your chat client, your email app, or just about any other program. You can also copy a URL from another application, and paste it into Tubular.
iPod Conversion
Found a video you want to bring around with you? With one click, you can instantly start converting any video to an iPod-playable video. It will get downloaded, converted to the appropriate format, and added to iTunes, all automatically, with just one click. The video is a QuickTime file, so you can copy it to your hard drive or play it from within iTunes.
